Brooklyn Grain Terminal

Location Info: This huge grain terminal, once used by the Port Authority, now sits abandoned and crumbling. It is a literal death trap, falling into the river, collapsing stairs. But if you make it to the roof, you are rewarded with one of the best views of NYC ever.

Brooklyn Water Works

Location Info: This beautiful old water pumping station was abandoned in 1977. It has suffered many fires and vandalism since then, now all that remains is a burned shell of what was once there.

Cibre Shoe Mill

Location Info: Not much is known about this old mill. Located in the middle of an old industrial town, it sits abandoned and collapsing in on itself. Most floors are dangerous to walk, homeless live in the basement. It appears at one time they made shoes here.

Diode Suit Factory

Location Info: A very strange abandonment, this little abandoned warehouse sits in the middle of an active industrial park. At first glance, it seems to be a suit warehouse, with hundreds of suits and other clothing left behind. Look a bit more though, and it seems to have been a scientific labratory, manufacturing diodes. Leaving how the suits got here to be a mystery.

Eagle River Power Plant

Location Info: This power plant is one of the most amazing places I have ever seen, abandoned or active. The plant closed in 1985 and has sat abandoned ever since. Many movies have been filmed here, most recently, Transformers 2.

EDO - AIL

Location Info: This government defense contractor did top secret work for the military. Among many other things, the software for the B-1 Bomber was programmed here. They also did work on space craft. The building sat abandoned for years, until it was demolished to build an outlet center.

Glenwood Power Plant

Location Info: This huge power plant was built in 1904 by the New York Central & Hudson River Railroad. It was later used as a regular power plant for the city of Yonkers. It closed in the 1970's, and now sits abandoned and slowly crumbling ino the Hudson River.

Location Info: This old train maintenance building sits abandoned in the middle of an active freight yard.

Location Info: This facility was once a jet engine testing plant for the US Navy. At one time a top secret facility, it has sat abandoned and decaying for years. It is currently being demolished.

Konica Camera

Location Info: This huge factory was home to the Konica Camera company, and produced cameras, lenses and film. It was slowly abandoned over time, then fully shut down in 2007 when the company moved to a new location. The oldest parts of the building were originally an old sweat shop from the 1800s turned into the factory.

Matteawan Manufacturing Company

Location Info: The oldest parts of this factory were built in the early 1800s, and it was added to ever since, resulting in a massive abandoned complex, ranging from 100 year old collapsing sections, to fairly modern warehouses. The entire complex sits on a river next to a beautiful waterfall.

M.F.C. Company Factory

Location Info: Little is known about this factory, except the initials on the smokestack. We stumbeled on the place by accident. Its filled with trash, and has lots of homeless residents.

Pier 19

Year Built: Unknown
Location Info: This old coal pier has sat abandoned for decades. It is now home to fisherman, graffiti artists, and paintballers. Walking to the end provides a great view of the city of Philadelphia.

Oakside Power Plant

Year Built: 1920
Location Info: This massive power plant is the sister plant to Eagle River Power Plant. The plant contained a huge old turbine hall, as well as a modern plant. The modern section was torn down in 2008, but the older section remains. Most of the turbines and equipment has been removed, but the building itself is beautiful.

Republic Factory

Location Info: This factory was part of Republic Aviation, a huge aviation company during the WWII era. Many aircraft were built here, including the P-47 Thunderbolt, RC-3 Seabee, F-84, and F-105 Thunderchief. Once a massive factory, most has been redeveloped or demolished, yet a few abandoned factory buildings remain.

Location Info: This old 1800s bleacerhy sits mostly abandoned, the oldest sections of the building have even fallen in on themselves, making for a great place to explore.

Tungsten Steel

Location Info: This property was once home to a huge steel factory, a highly radioactive superfund site. Most of it has been cleaned up and demolished. Only a few small warehouse buildings remain. Mostly empty, but home to some nice decay, and artistic graffiti.
